How to Make a Sticky Message on Discord (and the Best Sticky Bots)

Discord has no sticky messages, but bots can keep a message at the bottom of a channel. Here is how sticky messages work, how to set one up in Krypton, and what to look for in a sticky bot.

Discord has no built-in sticky messages. To keep a message at the bottom of a channel, use a bot that reposts it as new messages arrive. In Krypton Prime, run stick <message> in the channel and Krypton keeps it as the last message members see.

Pinned vs sticky messages

  • Pinned messages sit behind the pin icon. Members, especially on mobile, rarely open it.
  • Sticky messages stay just above the chat box, so everyone sees them before they type.

Use stickies for channel-specific rules, order formats, giveaway links, or "read this first" notes in support channels.

How to make a sticky message with Krypton

  1. Go to the channel that needs it.
  2. Run stick Read #rules before posting an order.
  3. Pause it during events with stickstop and bring it back with stickstart.
  4. Delete it completely with stickremove.
  5. See every active and stopped sticky in your server with getstickies.

What to look for in a sticky message bot

  • Pause and resume without retyping the message.
  • A server-wide overview so stickies aren't forgotten in old channels.
  • Reliability: the sticky should come back even in very busy channels.
  • Fewer bots: a dedicated sticky bot is one more high-permission account; an all-in-one bot like Krypton avoids that.

Tips for good sticky messages

  • Keep it to one or two lines. Long stickies push the conversation up.
  • Link to a channel instead of pasting the full rules.
  • Combine with an autoresponder for questions people still ask.

Sticky Messages are part of Krypton Prime, included with every Krypton Premium plan.
